Subject: Take a barback job or keep looking?

Hi,

I just graduated bartending school and I'm looking for a bartending job in DC.
I was offered a barback job at a new upscale restaurant in Dupont Circle (a
really nice area in Washington DC). At bartending school they told us to NOT
take a barback job but their job placement really didn't come through. And
from what I've read here being a barback may be a good entry level job. But I
don't want to be a barback forever. Do people here find barbacks eventually
become bartenders? Should I just keep looking for bartending positions. I
don't really have any bartender connections so I'm thinking this is my best
option.

I also work Monday through Friday 9-5. Anyone here balance the office and
evening bartending?
