hmmm, interesting. I had a bit of bacardi 8 left and tried it with that, i
think i liked that more. I also want to try barbancourt 8yr.
maybe ill alter my proportions a bit with the appleton and see how that goes.
I was going by the recipe on wiki
* 2 oz 17-year-old J. Wray Nephew Jamaican rum
* 1/2 oz French Garnier Orgeat
* 1/2 oz Holland DeKuyper Orange Curacao
* 1/4 oz Rock Candy Syrup
* juice from one fresh lime
Shake with Ice, and then strain in
to me this recipe is a bit sweet and a bit heavy on the orgeat. I made about 4
of them last night and ended up at something like...
2 oz appleton
1/4 oz orgeat
1/2 oz curacao
1/4 simple syrup
juice from a lime.
still seemed to lack a bit of the rum bite i was looking for though.
any thoughts?
thanks
