Ciroc is French vodka distilled from Mauzac Blanc and Ugni Blanc grapes grown
in the Cognac region of France, the grapes are left on the vine for an
extended period and then harvested when partially frozen so that the grape
juice is concentrated when the grapes are pressed. It's then distilled five
times, one of which is in a pot rather than column still. That's my spiel but
you can get the low down here

There was a thread a while back about EU vodka definitions and how Ciroc may
need to be reclassified as a Grape Eau de vie as it's not distilled from grain
or potatoe!
I think it's a nice Vodka as far as Vodkas go but it's pretty pricey in the
Uk and I think it plays on that whole "It's from Cognac so it must be quality"
bullshit that consumers seem so ready to lap up at the moment, see Grey Goose,
Alize, Hypnotic etc
