It's geared as a drink recipe learning tool for up and coming bartenders, or a
training tool for bartending schools and restaurants. Obviously most people
don't have a full bar setup at home to practice with, and even if they are
obtaining some sorts of hands-on training, they are typically only allowed a
small amount of hands-on time. BarSim allows them to practice drink recipes at
home in a simulated environment. You can think of the program as interactive
flash cards, but taken to the next level. And unlike hands-on practice, the
user receives detailed feedback on their performance, and can compare what
they put into the drink vs the actual recipe, further improving the learning
experience.
BarSim 2 will be a huge improvement, and include a feature which visually
steps the user through the making of each drink (or they can make the drink
themselves and be scored accordingly as they currently can). With this feature
addition, we have some liquor/mixer brands that are potentially interested in
using the program as a marketing tool.
