i was just wondering if this tactic was appealing to managers and was worth
offering? i have no experience in the food and beverage industry. mentioned
that before:) If a manager doesn't hire barbacks and wants to train their
bartenders could i offer,if i felt necessary, to apply as a server to gain
experience and explain that my goal is to be promoted to bartender
position...during my off schedule i'd like to assist the bartender on duty
(free of charge) that way i could be aware of typical drinks ordered, observe
the present bartender, help keep bar top clean, do light serving (bottle beer,
draught beer, cutting garnishes)...i'm a workaholic and don't mind the extra
work load if it gets me to my goal faster...would a manager go for this (it's
free help & they'll know my goal is to be bartender not server) or would they
rather only have whoevers on the clock be the only ones working?
