Subject: General guide for pouring shooters?
From: anonchump

I'd like to get better at pouring shooter type drinks for customers, they have
been rarely ordered by customers in the places I have worked, and I have very
little experience with them.

My understanding is there will be about 25% dilution once they get mixed with
ice, so if I am pouring say a 2oz size washington apple, I would use
approximately 1/2oz of crown, 1/2 oz of apple puckers and a 1/2oz of
cranberry. Is this about right?

What is the typical ratio of juice to liquor? If the drink calls for 2 types
of liquor and say 1 type of juice, would I want it be a 1:2 juice to liquor
ratio?

Are all shooters shaken (with the exception of layered shots)?

Any tricks, or general advice on how to quickly knock out a round of these
types of shooter drinks that are popular with the younger, 'college kids'
crowd?

Thanks in advance.
