Slow down there bucko. I have no doubt that there are chicks out there who
can lift a keg up to a shelf, but it's not the norm by any means. We have
less upper body strength and as you know kegs are heavy and cumbersome and
really no one should be lugging them up above their chests--how many
bartenders you know that have had hernias and pulled groins--big guys, too...
I have never pulled the girl card to get out of any grunt or dirty work and
not because I feel the need to prove myself, but because we are there to do
the job--all of the job. I'll roll a keg and push them all over the place and
plunge the ice well when it starts to clog and overflow...i'll work hurt and
compensate for my partner when he's hurt.

My response was to a question about whether it was worth it for the girl to
seriously persue barbacking to learn the business and get her foot in the
door. My guessis that this girl who paid for and attended bartending school
can't lift 2or3X's her body weight. More power to her if she can but you
gotta know what you're getting into. The job ain't easy.
