And here I thought that we were all firmly ensconced in the 21st Century and
everything that entails.

I've worked with a few barbacks, some male, some female. And just like working
with male or female bartenders, some are great and the rest suck--regardless
of gender.

I'm thinking now about a certain female barback who works down the street from
me, and she works her ass off, doesn't whine, snivel or bitch.
And she's hot.
On St Patrick's Day--she works in a "Irish" Bar--at the end of the night, the
'tenders were hammered, leaning, smoking and bragging while she carried the
hump and cleaned up the mayhem. It looked like a bomb had gone off in the
joint and she just kept plugging along.

So it's not gender that matters, but attitude.

Trash and kegs are heavy, sure, but we've all worked with female 'tenders who
hump their fair share of the shit, so why do the previous posters expect less
from chick BARBACKS? That's what's weird.

Its the Prima Donna males who won't pick up the shitty end of the stick that
has me wondering "WTF!?"
