I posted a message on here some time ago entitled "the madera recipe" in
which I listed the following, fairly standard long island recipe that has
become somewhat of a tradition in my family:
NOTE: measures can be oz., cup, pint, quart, etc. depending on quantity
desired.
1 measure of gin
1 measure of light rum
1 measure of vodka
1 measure of tequila (optional...some don't care for the taste)
1/2 measure of triple sec
2 measures of sweet & sour
1/2 measure of Coke (No Pepsi...Coke!)
I think we usually make a gallon and a half or something like that, for 8
people, and put it in a "pumper pot"-- you know, those insulated beverage
dispensers that stand about two feet high and have a large button on top you
push down on and it pumps some of the beverage out into a cup.... not sure to
the brand name or what you really call this thing but it works GREAT for
taking with you to tailgates,
etc and dispensing a punch/cocktail. Cheers
