I have a few good cocktail books that defy that trend.
Hayden Woods series called the "Liquid Kitchen" i think is great for using
cocktails that are relevent to the ones we are making now. Also there are some
extra ingredients and food that can match too that were never thought of
before.
I have tended not to buy too many cocktail books for their "coffee table"
approach but i have also scoured many a second hand bookstore and found some
really decent older style books which defy the norm too.
At the end of the day, every topic available will be trying to market
themselves to a wider audience and you will always get the books full of
useless crap so someone can make a buck.
Probably would also highlight cheryls books here too, not just cause they're
great and all, but also cause she knows us ;)
