First, one must consider the reasoning behind the customer's decision.
Is that person a regular for that bartender? There are certain bars I go to
ONLY on specific nights because I have friends working. I've walked out of
bars because the bartender I'm familiar with isn't there on her regular night.
Does the person already have a tab with the other bartender, and is he/she
aware that tabs are shared? I've run into this before as well.
Honestly, I don't care - tips are split for us, so her money is my money, in a
sense. If they want to wait longer to get a drink because the other bartender
is busy, that's their right - I'll be busy taking care of other customers who
aren't so particular about who does their pouring.
