Are they trying to market scotch to college kids perhaps? -- http://www.upi.com/NewsTrack/view.php?StoryID=20060228-124641-2848r -- 'Life endangering' scotch now distilling ISLAY, Scotland, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Twelve barrels of what will be the world's strongest scotch whisky were in their second day of distillation in Scotland Tuesday with 10 more years to go. The Bruichladdich distillery in Islay on a west coast island of Scotland followed the recipe of a quadruple-distilled liquor described in a 1695 travel book. "The first taste affects all the members of the body: two spoonfuls of this last liquor is a sufficient dose, and if any man should exceed this, it would presently stop his breath, and endanger his life," the writer said. Managing Director Mark Reynier told the BBC the process should produce a liquor with an alcohol content of around 92 percent, while traditional scotch whiskies run between 40 percent and 63.5 percent. "In the long-run we will be looking at producing around 5,000 bottles and I honestly couldn't put a cost on it," Reynier said. The Bruichladdich distillery was sold off by the U.S. multi-national Jim Beam in 1994
