Yeah I read that book. I remember he talks about an alcoholic sommeliare 
amongst other things. He makes a valid point that being a bartender seeing 
people get fucked up a nightly basis can distort reality and you begin 
thinking that it is normal state of affairs, which it is not.  Shizzle, the 
fact that you are scared of becoming an alcoholic and are now aware of how 
easily it can happen in this game is half the battle won. The other half is to 
have interests outside of tending such as sport or art etc to interact with 
others in a social context that does not involve alcohol.
