I just want to say, after some research, and reading other threads on the
subject, I personally never thought that bartending was only about knowing
recipes. Just watching bartenders work I would imagine, just using common
sense there was a lot more involved with the job than just recipes.

I'm just frustrated the more I look into it, becoming a bartender seems almost
impossible.

It's either school with job placement, or barback, but it seems you can only
be a barback if you know someone, I don't lol so then I'm stuck.

I was talking to a bartender at Sutra's a place here in NY and he told me he
went to bartending school, I wish I talked to him more, but I was pretty
wasted and dancing all night. I might go back just to ask him more questions,
he did say the school didn't help him get the job, but I wanted to ask him
was, is it worth it, and If he would recommend it. I think I asked him the
last one, and I'm pretty sure he did.

I will be talking to someone who co owns my local bar, because I want to rent
it for my b-day, so I think it would be a good idea to ask her when I do talk
to her.

sigh...
