Subject: lazy co-bartenders when it comes to stocking

Some background info: Where I work, only 1 bartender works Sundays-Wednesdays.
2 on Thurs, 3 on Fri+Sat. Only 1 tender sets up everyday starting 4pm.
Stocking involves jotting down a list of what beer bottles and liquor we need
to bring up from the basement and cooler downstairs at the beginning of every
shift. We try to keep 2 of every bottle on the shelves and another 2 of each
in the cabinets, (not including house liquor (which we keep more of)). Wine --
we have 1 of each house wine open, with 2 extra of each white wine in a small
fridge behind the bar and another 2 in the cabinet. Red wine we have 3 of each
in the cabinet and 1 of each open. We keep 1 of every liqueur in the cabinet
since we don't use them much.

I come in on Fridays at 4pm to stock. What irritates me is that for many weeks
now, I've been bringing up 2 of every red wine, 2 of every white wine, 1 of
every liqueur I happen to notice is missing, and basically restocking liquor
bottles for almost the whole week. It's like the bartenders during the week
don't stock at all, except for beer and house liquor (which they can't get
away with). The tenders during the week can get away with not stocking the
cabinets because it's not that busy, the one on Thursday can get away with it
because she still has what's left over from the week, so I end up restocking
for every other tender when I come in on Friday.

Sure, I expect to stock a lot since Thursday is busy, but I can't believe the
other tenders don't even care enough to bring up WINE bottles that they use
up! Their laziness is just so inconsiderate and it irks me, because SOMEBODY
(aka me) is stocking for them..it's not like the cabinets magically restock
themselves. And I'm bringing up 2 bottles of every wine and 1-2 of a lot of
the liquors which I KNOW aren't all used on only Thursdays. I happen to have
pride in having my bar stocked and fully prepared and I hate it when others
don't have the same care. I don't know what to do except suck it up and just
stock for all the other bartenders. My bar manager isn't really a bar manager,
he's just an owner who bartends with us but doesn't stock, so complaining to
him isn't going to do any good and will just make me look dumb, like I'm just
complaining about stocking, which I'm not. Besides, he doesn't care who
stocks, as long as it IS stocked. So complaining won't do any good. And I
can't NOT stock on Fridays because it's busy and we will surely run out of
liquor we need, which is just biting myself.

There was this one time I came in on Saturday at 9pm and it was pretty packed
that night (as well as the Friday night before). We ran out of one liquor and
I reached into the cabinet to open the extra bottle ... and the girl that
stocked at 4pm of course DIDN'T STOCK it. Hello! The open bottle on the shelf
was 1/4 full, and it was a frequently used liquor (I forget what it is now),
and it was Saturday -- it's not that hard to see that we will be needing the
extra bottles! So I just told the bar manager we didn't have any more of that
liquor and he just got someone from the kitchen to run downstairs and get it.
I mean things like this don't happen all the time because usually there is
enough left over from my Friday stocking to last til next Thursday/Friday
because I like to keep so much backup. But it just irritates me when I come in
and I have to deal with BS like this because the other tenders are plain lazy!

Ahh, well long post. Just blowing off some steam here and perhaps looking for
how to deal with this situation (if there is a solution, which I doubt, heh).
Thanks for reading!
