I'd love to have an Oasis machine, but for the home bartender this just isn't 
going to happen so we are more of less stuck using a blender. My first blender 
I inherited from my parents, it was and old Hamilton Beach and I burned it up 
rather quick chopping ice. I now use a heavy duty Hamilton Beach commercial 
bar mixer that I found at and estate sale for twenty dollars. It was new when 
they sold it to me, a really great deal I know, and it works fine. Despite it 
being "heavy duty" I still need to be sure to break the ice up with a hammer 
so it blends well :(   
I was talking with a gentleman on here some time back and he highly 
recommended the "Vitamix" blenders. He said that he has burned up many cheap 
blenders over the years and that his "Vitamix" blender, although more 
expensive than the cheapies, has been used extensivly by him and has continued 
to function flawlessly. If he still checks this site he may have more to add; 
I didn't mention him by name because I didn't want to risk taking too much 
liberty in proclaiming his endorsement for the product.
