I wouldn't worry too much about having a distaste for whiskey. I'm only 21,
but I love bourbon. It's my favorite spirit. In fact, one of my first real
drinks was a scotch and soda, which I loved. On the other hand, I can't drink
gin; I think it tastes absolutely vile. I kind of wish I liked it so I could
order the king of cocktails, a gin martini, and enjoy it, but I just can't do
it. It's really just your personal tastes, just as you might not like some
food that your friends love. I, for example, hate grilled cheese sandwiches
and tomato soup, but a lot of people I know love it. It's their comfort food,
but it makes me gag! C'est la vie. Drink what you like, and avoid the other
stuff.
