Sometimes mike good bartenders are hard to find, even rarer here in the UK
where in most places a job behind a bar is a part time job for uni students or
to generate a second income.
Good managers are always looking for dedicated and enthusiastic staff which it
sounds like you have both, my story is the similar to yours I started off at
the bottom as a 1 shift a week bartender showed my enthusiasm to my bosses and
now 16 months later I am manager of the place and have free reign to do what I
want as long as Im bringing in the green stuff, my problem now is finding good
staff, if someone with ur enthusiasm came along that would mean more to me
than experience, you just got to prove to me your dedicated enough for me to
spend my money training you.
Sadly Im not in the Manchester area, so cant really help you there, but I
suggest you get together a nice CV, show off your qualities, big yourself up
but be honest and just send one to every bar you fancy working in, this is the
method I used and it worked for me!
Cheers
