I don't know...... but, IF the gold flaks do abbrade the stomach lining 
(which I tend to doubt, alcohol increases the excretion of mucos in the 
stomach which helps coat the stomach walls and protect it from the acid) all 
it would do is speed up the absorbtion of alcohol into the blood; you have to 
figure that it's going to be absorbed anyway but depending upon what you've 
eaten along with several other factors, the only possibility I can see it that 
all this could happen faster. I think that it goes down smooth and this allows 
people to put more of it down, thus getting you drunk quick. This is just my 
opinion, perhaps Jeeves would have a different, more accurate answer :)
