I have used Micros for a couple years, mainly for food as I worked as a
server. Now I'm tending bar and using it. Examples: Absolute tonic - hit
'Absolute' then 'tonic'. If I were to hit 'vodka' it would price it at the
well price. I just got them to change that where I work last week after
asking "How come the Absolute is priced as a well drink?" Our well drinks are
$4, call is $5 and premium is $6. Micros has a lot of flexibility. If
someone orders a margarita, I hit the margarita button, but if they want it
with a call tequila, I hit the Up$ button which adds $1.00 then type in which
tequila. Or I could hit the preferred tequila button, which is correctly
priced, then type in 'margarita'. When I'm on the bar and ringing in a well
rum and coke, I just have to hit the 'rum' button. I can do that with any
one-alcohol drink; just hit the base spirit. Of course the servers can't
otherwise I wouldn't know what mixer they want. Another example: I hit Black
Russian it's a well drink, I hit Black Russian that the customer wants made
with Kahlua and well vodka, it's the drink button, then Call$ and same thing
with premium vodka and Kahlua, it's "drink button, Up$, Call$". Up$ adds
$1.00 and Call$ adds $.75. Think I got this right :-)
