Thought I'd post some information about an upcoming spirits related event 
happening in San Francisco (that I will be attending, but otherwise not 
directly associated with):
    Whiskeys of the World:Expo 2000
    Wednesday, March 22nd 2000
    5pm - 10pm
    The Hotel Nikko

Here are some of the particulars:
All Ticket Sales are in Advance:
    $65 for General Admission
    $85 for Connoisseur Class
This event includes:
* An evening of tasting and nosing over 250 of the world's finest single 
malts and boutique bourbons in one of San Francisco's most elegant venues. 
* Speakers Forum throughout the evening including internationally famous 
nosers, distillery managers, Master Distillers, and pioneers in the world of 
whisk(e)y.
* Spend time with the special representatives of every brand to increase your 
knowledge and enjoyment of their whiskies.
* Discover several single malt whiskies never before exhibited and meet the 
owners of the distilleries where they are produced.
* A live coopering/cask building demonstration.
* Live music with a Scottish Ceilidh band.
* Buffet supper prepared by the Nikko's exemplary chefs.
* Purchase and order fine whiskies and whisky related glassware, books, and 
other spirits related items.    
The Connoisseur ticket will include all of the above, plus access to the 
Connoisseur's room:
* Treat yourself to rare edition whiskies, collector's bottlings, and 
Distillery Reserve. These whiskies are rarely seen and almost never available 
to sample!
* A private buffet and a chance to meet personally with our renown speakers 
and invited whisky authorities.
