Although not currently in Portland, I'm from there, here's a few places to
drop by if you have the time:

These are all downtown Portland:

Henry's Tavern, NW Portland - 100 beers on tap, most are Micros. This is not a
nightclub, rather a restaurant & bar, with a very nice billiards room
upstairs. If you sit at the bar, it has an "on-bar" glass chiller (pretty much
a freezer rim built onto the bar) to keep your beer cold.

Kell's Irish Pub - Depending on the night of the week, they have live music,
or a magic guy that can throw dollar bills and get them to stick in the ceiling

Portland City Grill - It's on the 24th floor (I think) - fine dining
restaurant, with a surprisingly happening bar at night due to a great happy
hour food menu. Plenty of young gold diggers looking for rich middle aged men.

Doug Fir - East Portland - Very strange place, but pretty cool. It's like they
took an old Denny's with a basement and created a new age/lodge looking
lounge. They also converted an old dumpy hotel to boot.

McFadden's NW Portland - If you're looking for more of the frat boy type club,
or at least it used to be that way, haven't been in Portland for about a year
now.

Bridgeport Brewery NW Portland - If you want great Pizza and great beer, very
laid back. This is the place where they brew Bridgeport IPA, which I don't
especially care for in the bottle, but when it's fresh on tap (as it is here)
it's excellent.

Portland Brewery NW Portland - Even better beer, and their own imported
Scotch, which I'm quite fond of. Good food, even better beer.

On your way down to Eugene, take the second Wilsonville exit (south
Wilsonville) and take a left. Drive about three blocks and you'll see a bar
called Wanker's Corner right next to a Red Robin. If you happen by there on a
friday or saturday night, it'll be pretty happening.
