I would not recommend any freelancing until you've established yourself with
some experience behind the bar.
If you're doing it on your own, people attending parties and events will look
to you to be the master. You will also be dealing with many many different
types of people who have varied tastes and requests. You need to be able to
accomodate these varied tastes and discuss options with them. These are things
that become second nature with experience.
Give yourself some time to become familiarized with the industry and the kind
of people who drink on a regular basis. Spend some time on both sides of the
bar. Once you've gotten to the point where you've developed a following of
loyal customers, you've probably gotten to the point where you'll do ok
freelancing.
Good luck! Remember to have fun during the journey.
