You might want to try some of the VFW's and/or American Legions in your areas.
They're pretty good about hiring 'newbies'. It's the route I took. I have
about 12 years or so in the restaurant and bar industry, and decided to take
the next step, bartending. The prior experience definitely helped. The
private clubs, legions and VFW's do tip, the drinks are simple and they
generally hire only part-time - allowing you to look and work somewhere else
also. It's not 'fabulous' money, but it is 'experience' that counts. Hope
