Now we're talking, this one is my favorite, because, this is the one I'm going
through now. Again, the quality is amazing. It has Bottle Tin, Tin on Tin, now
Dean's Tin on Tin is not as exciting as Howard Sterns Girl on Girl, but Dean
is really, REALLY trying lol.
He explains what you have to do to put on a show for the guest @ the Bar, he
actually breaks it down into detail, like a science. He shares the Roller
Coaster Theory. Dean also covers Hecklers ect. He also shows his Routine from
the King of the Ring 2004, what a perfect example of showmanship! If I wanted
to give someone a good impression of a Competition Routine, I will show them
Dean's KOTR Routine.
Now my favorite part of the DVD is the Flair Lessons. Dean goes into great
detail on the techniques. Dean does some of the techniques differently then
other Flair bartenders which is nice if you like to know different ways of
doing things. I like the way he throws a Martini Glass over the shoulder into
a stall. I've seen it done differently, I like the way Dean does it. Dean also
shows some nice Tin/Glassware Techniques, as well as Ice Scoop/Tin/Glass
exchanges that look real cool and easy to learn.
He shows some cool Garnish tricks, my favorite of them all, is throwing a
Slice of Lemon and having it land on the Rim of the Glass. To me this is just
as impressive as the Cherry/Pick or Sword in the Mouth Trick. Also most Bars
that I have worked in have Lime/Lemon Slices so this is a nice trick to know.
He does a great job of simplifying Tin Nesting (Captures) and Tin Splits and
Tin Nesting/Splitting, doing it all in one move. Another great bonus is Dean
always breaks everything down into Sequences in the end, so you actually learn
to flow with moves that might be new to you. He also does a great job with
Bottle/Tin Nesting & Splits. He also covers something that I see neglected in
most Videos/DVD of an Instructional nature. “Flourishes”. For example Dean
uses a Tin Palm Spins in the Bottle/Tin Nesting/Splits Sequence to get you in
the habit of not having a Dead Hand. This is something I've been neglecting &
Missing Big time in my training, Thanks Dean! He also does a great job, in
demonstrating a lot of options you have to liven up a routine by doing
different things with your Tin, as an example he did like 5 different
techniques in a row while continuously throwing a bottle over his shoulder.
The DVD also shows some cool 2 Bottle (3/4 full) Flair, one that I really
liked was the Two bottle Pop up with some pizzazz he is pouring both, it's
hard to describe he does a little shimmy, shimmy but it looks so cool. Dean
shows a few tricks with two almost full bottles. One move I really liked,
which is different but can be integrated into a real cool Working Flair
Sequence, was a one bottle over the shoulder move, this is with the bottle ½
to ¾ full.
Dean does an outstanding job teaching two bottles. He goes into great detail.
One thing I now realize I have been doing wrong with my Multiplexing is A) the
Position of my hand and B) I don't cushion the catch nowhere near enough,
which would explain why my hands are starting to look like the Crypt Keepers
hands. Captain Deano shows a bunch of different catches, as well as a few
different exchanges. One really cool exchange was two bottles behind the back.
He also gets you in the habit again with Flourishes (Roll-up/Thumb Roll) in
the Two bottle exchange Sequence.
Now the Multiplexing is worth the price of the DVD alone. Dean shows the
standard Multiplexing in detail, as well as inside out, across to the other
hand, into a pour, into a pour and double over the shoulder which is real
cool. He also teaches something he calls “Multiplexing Starts” (Multiplexing
Splits) which is a Multiplex and you catch one bottle behind the head or
behind the back, from which you can start a routine. I got really good with
the Multiplexing Starts, I never thought I would be able to do as well with
it. I've seen it done, but never thought I would be able to do them so soon
after learning Multiplexing. Captain Deano is the man when teaching
Multiplexing.
Juggling!!! Dean starts off with Ball's!!! No pun intended. He teaches the
Standard Cascade, The Reverse Cascade, Standard Cascade with One ball doing a
reverse Pattern called “Tennis”. Then @ the end of the Flair lessons he shows
you how to juggle bottles. When I can get past the 3 bottle flash and into
juggling, this section is going to be worth it's weight in gold to me.
Showstoppers!!! He shows Waterfalls, London Waterfalls and The Domino Drop,
all were very cool, I'm familiar with the Water Falls, but the Domino drop I
have heard of but never seen, real cool. Also the Texas Mickey's were awesome,
that was new for me. I can't believe he juggled those bottles. What are they
like 2.5 to 3 litters or something?
He shows this really cool Toilet paper machine, I wish I had when I was a kid,
I would have been up to some Devilment with that boy. He shows some sick
Glowing Liquids, that look sick going into a London Waterfalls, it will kill
you, and its very toxic but looks cool.
Again this DVD has Special Features such as Bloopers (real funny), it has like
a commercial with Christian Delpech (he is just amazing), talking about the
Flairco Portable Bar & The Flairco Skyy Bottles. He bust out some Bad-ass two
bottle & Bottle & Tin. One thing in the Special Features that I really got a
kick out of was the “Alternate opening” you know Delpech's Video Resume, that
is on the beginning of one of his tapes, where the announcer is like First
Place, First Place, First Place ect. Well, Dean jokingly taped his version of
it. Let me tell you it's hilarious. Dean has quit a few first places, but half
way through the Alternate Beginning he ran out of first places, so it went
something like this, First place to the runner up, First place to the Ninth
runner up ect. And he is dropping bottles like crazy, it's just hilarious.
Also these DVD's have some sick Camera angles including on top shooting
downwards, very cool. Well, this DVD is the bomb! I love this DVD, it will
keep me busy for quit awhile. Great job Flairco!!!
Cheers
