Bacardi Man,

Did the school you attend offer any placement assistance? I finished a
bartending school here in Texas on 08/11. I contacted the placement assistance
office and by 08/19 I was working, in a bar/billiards hall. The billiards hall
is close to 30 miles away from the house but I was able to interview with the
manager and get placed. This was without previous bartending experience and
without previous food and beverage experience. I also had no resume nor filled
out an application.

With all due respect to those who have worked up to bartending from inside the
industry, it is possible to land directly behind the bar. Would it have been
easier with previous experience? Sure! But I am also older and have many years
of customer service management experience. I turned to bartending as
supplimental income, not as a primary source. I have no intention and probably
no opportunity of being a threat to those who have worked in the industry and
are in the high profile clubs and restaurants. A local bar or pool hall will
suit my needs just fine.

How do I pour? What is 'cl', 'oz' and 'pt'? How should I handle glassware?.
