"The cork industry is a dinosoar with three feet in the tar pit..."
Bottom line, cork grows fungus and other wonderful things. I read somewhere
that one in twelve bottles of wine are "corked". I find that number to be high
personally, but none the less "corked" bottles happen all to frequently.
Syntha-cork (plastic) is at times hard to remove. You can use another good
quality cork puller to remove the cork with the tine stuck in it. Twist off
cap have started to show up even on premuim bottles of wine. Whitehall lane
Cab. Lawson's Creek Sauvignon Blanc, are two that come to mind.
