My mom made this once and it tasted sooooo good. I got the recipe from her,
so I'm not sure where it originally came from to give proper credit.
I know this sounds like a lot of garlic, but because it's cooked it doesn't
taste as strong. One more note, the recipe originally called for sweet
vermouth, but I'm pretty sure my mom used dry, and it came out great.
*40 Clove Garlic Chicken* with vermouth
2 Chicken breasts - split
4 tbsp oil
4 tbsp butter
1/4 cup vermouth
40 cloves garlic, peeled and whole
Melt butter in frying pan. Add oil. Brown chicken well on both sides.
Remove chicken, add garlic and saute for about a minute. Add vermouth and
stir. Put chicken back in the pan on top of garlic. Cover and simmer about
one hour, turning chicken every once in a while. When done, serve chicken
with the cloves of garlic. The garlic mixture will be great with bread too.
