I work at a soul/blues/jazz lounge in the downtown/midtown area. Don't really
want to name it on a public forum, though, sorry.
As forhiring...Houston is a tough town to get a job barbacking simply because
of how close we are to Mexico. I know a bunch of bar managers, and they've
all told me that they basically only hire Mexicans as barbacks because they
know the Mexicans will always be on time, won't complain, and they'll bust
their ass. They weren't trying to sound discouraging, just giving me the cold
hard truth.
Your best bet will probably be to stick with Pappa's and work your way up,
unless you want to try to do the same elsewhere.
