A small local restaurant owner of a new establishment is giving me a
bartending "trial" this Thursday.
The owner is giving me a shot above two other applicants with five and seven
years experience respectively. My confidence stems from the fact they are
giving me a shot- they must see something in me. I did fib about having
experience- saying I had about six weeks worth at a sports bar.
Both the owners tell me that it is the slow season for their business ( it's a
college town). During our interview, I asked them what types of drinks they
serve mostly- wine. My bartending school did not cover the basics of wine
service and focused on cocktails.
I have 1 year of restaurant experience, and a great deal of customer service
experience in retail. My question is- am I in trouble? Or should I expect to
stay afloat?
I don't have a big ego, nor am I overly confident about securing the position.
But I am confident.
Any advice?
Thanks!
Dallas.
