i strongly agree with rocky on this subject. in my obsrevations owning a bar/ 
restaurant involves, hard long hours,it is costly and not a very sound 
investment; a very "hit or miss" business venture. i would also strongly 
suggest gaining alot of first hand experience as well. although i have seen , 
on one hand, someone go into this blindly w/ substancial financial backing and 
really boom; on the other hand, the most experienced people with extremely 
well researched locale, themes etc.. have failed terribly. it really is a 
matter of luck, which i wish you much of if you do decide to embark on such an 
endeavor. i personaaly have had the desire at one time but after long 
consideration choose to contnue bartending and managing for others, let them 
deal with the liabilities, costs and headaches!
