Well, to be honest I've only tried TV's Passion Fruit syrup, and I haven't
really used it in large enough quantities to give it a thumbs up or down. All
the recipes I've seen that asked for it use it in small enough proportions
that I can't really taste it over the rest of the drink. I need to make a
Hurricane and see how that is.

The TV's Orgeat seems fine, I've been using it in Mai-Tais and the occasional
smoothie. It's pretty strong, I have found it can dominate the flavor of a
drink pretty easily, and I think it's a flavor that is best used as an accent,
not the main course. The only other brand I've tried is Torani, which is
ubiquitous around here, and I can't really tell the difference. Torani also
has a "pomegranate syrup" that I should try. Interestingly, they don't call it
Grenadine at all.

With the Grenadine it's fairly easy to distinguish because the Shirley Temple,
my main application for Grenadine, is basically a Grenadine drink - the
Grenadine is the main flavor and the 7up or ginger ale is only a background
flavor. (I don't care for OJ in my Shirley Temples, as it tends to overpower
everything else in the drink.) Whereas the Passion fruit/Orgeat are both used
mainly as background flavors in drinks with alcohol, so it's much harder to
tell. I should make a Passion fruit Temple and see how that goes. An Orgeat
Temple doesn't sound too good.
