I think the most important thing is not to let people chug vodka, if at all
possible. Second to that, hydration is really important. If someone has been
doing a lot of peeing and/or vomiting, then they need WATER! I know the few
times I've had too much to drink, my sense of smell and taste gets very
sensitive, and the chlorine in tap water makes me feel nauseous - so good
bottled water is key. Keeping hydrated also reduces the effects of a hangover,
so if you are drinking alcohol, drink as much water as you can stand. I like
to alternate between a drink and some soda, just because I really don't like
to drink still water.
I don't have any experience with actual alcohol poisoning - supposedly you
should be on the look out for if you can't wake someone up, or they aren't
breathing properly, or if they look pale or blue. In those cases, you should
call an ambulance.
Naturally, more information is out there in the repository of all human
knowledge - Google.com
