Subject: the hierarchy of bartending jobs

Hi everyone. I'm looking into the bartending profession... I have no
experience in food and beverage, but I don't have any qualms about starting at
the bottom and working my way up. My question is, in the world of different
bartending jobs... what's the best and worst places you could get a job? Of
course everyone's different, but how would these places rank compared to each
other in terms of best places to work
(moneywise-managementwise-customertypes-etc)?

night club
country club
hotel
local restaurant
chain restaurant (e.g. outback)
local pub or small bar

I'm sure I'm leaving places out of this list, like I said I'm just beginning
to look into all of this... so if you want to elaborate on my list as you rank
them, I'd very much appreciate it.

Also... whats the best way to find an entry-level bartending job? I know
there's some debate about whether school is important, and I'm reading those
posts, but beyond that, is cold-calling the way to go? classifieds? what?
