Hiya Wende... you could add water to this to make it a long drink... so you
could melt the sugar cube withthat method.. but personally I would go for this
then...
Absinthe Makes The Tart Grow Fonder... Long drink version
45ml water
2 ice cubes
5ml Midori
25ml Absinthe
sugar cube
Pour midori into a suitable glass. Take an Absinth spoon and rest it on the
rim of the glass.
Place a sugar cube on the spoon and then pour the Absinth on the sugar. Then,
holding the spoon above the mix, set light to the sugar.
Let it burn for a minute or so. The sugar will bubble and begin to caramelize.
Once the flame is beginning to die down, stir the sugar into the mix. Add ice
and water and stir...
Hope this one works.. of course havent tried it..lol
Doing it this way I think results in a better tasting drink... when it comes
to absinte the main point of it is to carmalise the sugar before adding....
ps... was it boiling water they used.. or just water that had been boiled and
allowed to cool.. to purefy it...
