First, make sure you checked the school out. Could they name at least 5 bars
and bartenders where grads are CURRENTLY working? Is their placement program
in writing?

My opinion (or tunnel vision) on bartending schools is well documented if you
search this forum.

As for starting out - No matter what your instructor tells you, you will not
be ready for high volume upon graduation. Restaurants are great but most
promote to tender from within. Not all, so you will need to apply at alot.
Slower hotels and locally owned restaurants and pubs are a good start. Be
willing to wait on some tables and do some dirty work.

Look, attitude and the basic skills school will provide you will get you the
job. Be ready to pound the pavement and submit alot of applications.

Good luck!
