A barback gets Ice, clears empty glasses, washes them, restocks them, restocks
liqour, restocks beer, takes out trash when it gets full duning the shift,
exchanges recycle boxes when they get full, and did I mention get ice? At
times when the bar is swamped and 5 people deep, and the three bartenders
can't keep up, the barback will be on "light duty" opening and serving beer.

Barbacks at my bars get tiped out between %8 and %15 percent of the
bartenders tips, depending on how much the bartender feels the barback
deserves. So say its Friday night and you are barbacking for three bartenders
stations, and combined the bartenders made $700 in tips, at the lowest
percentage, you would make $56 in tips and your minimum wage (5.45 per hour).
At the Highest percentage you would make $105 cash and your wages. Remember
Tenders tip on how much you did for them, so you would have to really hustle
to walk with that $105.

If you worked 40 hrs a week barbacking, which generaly isn't going to be
possible as bars only need barbacks on peak nights, you would make $218 a
week. add to that tips, which will vary from bartender to bartender, if you
busted your butt, you could look at nother $200 or $250 a week, perhaps more.

Like I said, you may be better off looking for a job with the resort itself!!
