I personally think that for someone that knows absolutely nothing about
bartending and or alcohol that a decent bartending school is definitely
something worth considering if you want to break into the biz.

You should do a search of the forums and you'll run across endless discussions
on this topic with many opinions on each side of the fence.

Your other option would be to simply get any job you can in a restaurant - ie,
bussing, serving, expediting etc and work your way up, but even then,
bartending school could help you out. Just don't go into it thinking that a
bartending school is your GUARANTEE to get a bartending job, it's not. They'll
teach you the basics and it's up to you to get the job.

Cheers!
