Actually living down in Southern Mexico right now, and I've had the pleasure
of seeing and hearing exactly why people put limes in their Corona (which is
actually my second least favorite beer down here, Sol being my least favorite
- Victoria and Indio being my absolute favorites)- Some in fact do it for the
flavor, but that's usually rookie beer drinkers - many of the locals claim
it's to keep flies away from their beer, which is a common concern down here.
Another reason is to kill the bacteria, possibly contained in the beer (which
I doubt) or on or around the mouth of the bottle (which I believe).

In any event, beer is an acquired taste, just like just about everything else
that's alcohol related that doesn't contain massive amounts of sugar. I'm sure
given time, and the right beers, you may eventually start liking beer.

Cheers!
