hey all i am from canada as well actually from b.c. ya you are right in b.c. 
you have to be 19 to drink as well as to serve. not many people start as 
bartenders at the age of 19 cause of no experience or lack of. i started at 20 
but that was my choice cause i decided to spend about eight months as a 
busperson and learn the basics.ya we got that serving it right certificate 
here to and yes it is quite mandatory. we also have another one that is 
optional called superhost.
