Cruiz,
Liquors are different weights. For example, Kahlua is very heavy, so that's
why it is the bottom layer of a B-52.
Once I had the luxury of experimenting with the bars liquors and had a blast
fiquring out the weights of the liquors.......the trick is to find liquors
that will layer on top of one another, and compliment one another (taste
wise)......
99% the time I use a cherry to layer. Hold the cherry by the stem, lower it
to the the liquor in the glass (pony's are best), then pour the next layer on
the cherry allowing the liquor to run down and around the cherry and on top of
the previous liquor layer. At the same time lift the cherry keeping it on the
top surface......does that make sense?
If you don't want to use Blue Curacao, then get some food coloring. Food
coloring is a staple of mine....I like to make my Margarita's greener than
normal (just one drop) and my Pina Colada's more yellowish (one drop). Of
course green comes in handy for St. Pattys Day, and I do a cool magic trick by
pouring a tin of shooters out and each one is a different color. IT BLOWS
THEIR MINDS!....(you just secretly put one drop in the bottom of the shooter
glass....I like to use martini glasses....they never see the food
coloring.....I usually have them prepped and you have to make sure you can
talk them into a relatively clear shooter like a Kama Kazi or a Lemon Drop.)
Hope this helps,
Cheryl
