Do a search on this site about bartending schools and the pros and cons....
there are literaly hundreds of posts simmialr to yours, seems as if we don't
heve a week pass by without someone asking. Here is the link to a quick
search I did just by typing in Bartending School:
http://www.webtender.com/iforum/search.cgi?q=bartending+school

I my opinion, a school can bee a good thing, as lon as it's a good school.
Steer away from the internet scams that send you a diploma if you send them
money, you won't learn a thing and will be terribly embarrased at your first
job.

My other suggestion is to get a job in the service industry waiting tables,
bussing tables.... something. This experience will give ou the skills you
will need as a profesional bartender.

Bartending can be a trying job, but it can also be loads of lucrative fun,
practicly everyone I serve Has asked me about "breaking into the job market"
and though it isnt too hard, understand that there is a bunch of competition
out there!

Good luck
