Subject: Approaching a Nightclub

Hi all,

I was wondering how one goes about approaching a nightclub about a bartending
position. The standard time for inquiring about jobs is usually 2-4PM, but
what about these clubs that don't open until 6 or 7PM?

Specifically, I'm thinking about live jazz clubs that open at about 6, have
first set around 8 or 9, second set around 10 or 11. Should one call these
establishments first and ask if there are any openings, or is there a time
that is more appropriate than not to approach these places? All the clubs I'm
thinking about have cover charges, so another hurdle is that I'd have to make
sure an unannounced visit would be worth it on any given night.

Thanks ahead of time for any help.
