hi, you were right it was gelation and not jello thanks
anyhow someone asked for the recipe, i bought this book called "Party Shots"
by Mittie Hellmich, it has nothing but different recipes for jello shots.
"Gelatini"
8 oz. water
2 1/2 oz envelope of unflavored gelation
8 oz. premium gin or vodka
1/2 teaspoon dry vermouth
1/2 teaspoon sweet vermouth
Garnish (optional)
10 green cocktail olives, sliced in half horizontally
or
1/4 cup finely grated lemon zest
MAKES 20 SHOTS * SERVES 3 TO 4
1. In a small saucepan bring the water to a boil.
2.Pour the boiling water into a medium heatproof bowl. Sprinkle the unflavored
gelation into the hot water, stirring until the gelation is dissolved. Let
cool.
3. Add the gin and the dry and sweet vermouths to the cooled mixture, stirring
until well combined.
4. Pour mixture into twenty 2-ounce paper or plastic cups and refrigerate for
15 minutes or until slightly set.
5. If garnishing, use a chockstick to pust an olive half into the center of
each cup, or sprinkle a pinch of lemon zest over the top. chill until firm, 4
to 6 hours.
