Given the difficulty in putting cork in the bottle as well as the whole 
disgorgement process, it is of utmost importance that there be as little noise 
as possible when opening the bottle. Added to this if the cork pops then there 
is a strong liklihood that you will have champagne fizzing out the neck of the 
bottle.
