I know what Dom is saying too, however in the states there are many many types
of bars ranging from something where Dom or Dale Degroff would work with
Drinkboy sitting on the other side to nasty-sticky-floored biker bars serving
beer and shots. (Gidwick, I also see that you are in the UK, but I didn't look
at that before answering the first time.) There are lots of bars that could do
what you are talking about in America. I do it right now at a pool bar where I
work. (I pre-mix Rum Runners) Sorry, but I just don't have time to pick up 6
bottles 200 times a shift. People want their drink NOW and as long as it
tastes like it has alcohol in it they don't care. Also, this is good for
"service bars" in restaurants, ummmmm...bars where the server service is
heavy, restaurants where they don't have a bartender and the servers have to
make their drinks (yep, they exist) and of course for large groups/masses of
people. I can tell you right now that every dinner show in America that caters
to large masses having to pump out 2 dinner shows a night are making the main
cocktail in a big trash can! Just like at Disney's Polynesian Luau...the Mai
Tai is mass produced and is offered as the complimentary cocktail with the
dinner package.....you can order as many as you want.
Dom, don't they have all different kinds/types of bars in Italy?
Cheryl
P.S. Pre-mixing is also found at bars that advertise "specials" for the
night. Very popular in Mexican restaurants. Hint: Don't ever order the
special. They are pre-mixed in a gallon jug and will contain very little
alcohol. If you want a Margarita, always order it by specifying a certain
tequila. This way you are guaranteed to get a handmade Rita.
