"Highball" refers to a few things.

1) the actual cocktail "Highball" - Whiskey and Ginnger Ale
2) the glassware - Highball Glass
3) term for a category of drink (typically prepared in a highball drink, most
often consisting of one liquor and one mixer.

I'm sure there's more history to this term as well.

Cheers!

How do I pour? What is 'cl', 'oz' and 'pt'? How should I handle glassware?.
