Wow, that's a tad severe. Never having been to New Orleans, I don't have a 
clue as to what would be so special about a drink in order to enforce its 
name/recipe so much.
I did find that the "Tropical Isle" restaurant that originated the "Hand 
Grenade" offers a "mix" for sale so you can make it at home:

Is this purely a "high proof" drink, or is there something else about it that 
makes it better then your average drink?
