Andrew,

It is OK to leave your pourers in the bottles, especialy if you are replacing
the bottle around once a week. I have a couple tips for your pourers though.
Once you use a pourer ro a certain liqour you should stick with using that
same pourer. I know this depends on the pourer, but the plastic will often
take on the flavour of the liqour in the bottle, so when the pourer is
switched, say from a whiskey bottle to a vodka bottle, the flavor of the vodka
may be altered by the pourer. Another thing to consider is to use the pourers
with screens in them for your whiskeys and burbons. In the spring and summer
fruit flys really like to climb into these particular bottles and do whatever
it is that they do, most likely drink a little of the stuff (as it is very
sweet) lay their eggs and die. You can tell if you've had critters in you
booze by the clarity of the alcohol, product that has been tainted byt flies
will grow cloudy. This is a VERY BAD THING!!! No to mention gross. The
health inspector doesn't take too kindly to it either.

So to recap:
1. leaving your pourers in is fine.
2. I suggest using the same pourer for the same type of liqour every time.
3. I'd get pourers with screens in them for your burbons and whiskeys.

How do I pour? What is 'cl', 'oz' and 'pt'? How should I handle glassware?.
