If you know that people will like to drink malibu, then put it on the list
(like I said, I'd put it in the place of Brandy if anything).

750mL is generally considered the standard size for a bottle of liquor. It's
often called a "fifth" in the US because it's about a fifth of a gallon. One
bottle of 750mL will get 2-3 people fairly drunk. You may go through 2-3
different 750mL bottles of vodka at a party with 30-40 people, while some of
your other bottles (like Triple Sec and Grand Marnier) may last 2-3 parties of
that size.

I like that size bottle because I've become comfortable with it and it's easy
to handle. You can buy bottles as large as 1.75 liters, but I find them
awkward to pick up and pour. As for whether or not they're cheaper, it really
depends. Check your store prices and do the math. It's often cheaper (per
volume) to buy the large bottles, but that's not always the case. If you want
to get a good idea about how much things will cost, check out
www.missionliquor.com . The bottles cost $2-3 more than their prices in my
area, but you can figure out roughly how much money you will save by searching
for a certain liquor and comparing bottle sizes.
